Aviation has played a prominent role in Alaska's history and development, and the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum is a celebration of the lives of the brave pilots and sturdy aircraft that helped build the state. On display are 25 historic aircraft fully restored, a cinema with films on the history of aviation in the state, and a gift shop with plenty of aeronautical paraphernalia. The observation deck offers some great views over Lake Hood.
